Kampala Hospital a private specialist hospital and diagnostic center in Uganda will today change its identity. As part of the rebrand campaign, a new logo will be launched this evening to represent the company’s new look. In addition to the logo, the new brand for the Hospital includes the tag line ‘Always caring, Always Here’.

Speaking to The CEO Magazine prior to the launch, Joris Vanderputten the Hospital’s CEO said, “The Kampala Hospital brand voice is that of a trusted friend. It is human and real, timely and always reliable. Our brand voice represents medical expertise, to be sure, but it is also born of a connection with clients and a deep understanding of their daily lives and the role we play in them. We have a sense of humor and care that is unmatched.”

“Yes, we are medical experts, that is why we understand when you are ill, being well again is the only thing that matters to you at that moment. So we always put you first and everything else comes after,” he added.

The Hospital opened in 2007 and was founded by a group of doctors, other professionals and business men in Uganda. The intention was to bring non-existent services that were sought by Ugandans who frequently moved abroad to seek quality medical care.

“The lack and scarcity of medical equipment in the country also forced skilled medical personnel to seek employment abroad. This is one of the other reasons for the birth of this establishment. We were the first hospital in Uganda that offered MRI- and CT-scan services,” said Vanderputten.

Since its opening, the hospital has treated over 100,000 patients at Outpatient, 8,500 were admitted, 3,500 children born and 6,500 theatre procedures and 19,500 CT scans have been performed to date. Staff numbers have also grown from 20 to 167 and we have more than 70 specialists affiliated to the hospital.

“In November 2013 AAR and the Dutch fund IFHA invested in the hospital to further improve the quality of care and facilities. Following this investment, in 2014 new inpatient rooms were opened to a total of 80 beds as the hospital became a member of AAR healthcare group. In 2015 the hospital opened an executive wing and intends to continue refurbishing wards and department as well as stay ahead with the latest medical equipment,” he explained.
