KAMPALA, UGANDA- The year 2017 has not been of mean achievements as Delhi Public School International (DPSI) emerged Runners up of a dance competition during the auspicious festival of Navratri held at Lohana Academy Kampala. The school bagged the runners’ up trophy & cash award.
“Here, we are imparting an educational experience that is world-class in every respect and which prepares children for global citizenship,” reveals the Principal Mary Jacobs.
“We follow a curriculum with a global dimension to enable the students brace for the 21st century challenges with confidence and strength of character.”
A tour of the plush school was a revelation of a conducive learning environment that triggers the students to bring out the best in them and an all-round development through discovering the joy of learning.
“Administration encourages the development of a sense of responsibility, nationalism and appreciation of the entire world,” stressed … “We impart values that include teamwork, sensitivity, and compassion and applied learning.”

This is done by providing outstanding teaching resources so that students’ experience all round academic, intellectual, social, cultural, physical, emotional and spiritual development to a well-developed curriculum.
Asked why have DPIS in Uganda the chairman Ruparelia Group of Companies Sudhir Ruparelia beamed with smiles of satisfaction before responding.
“The answer is in the enrollment of more than 900 students since inception,” said Ruparelia.
“Parents in the region who treasure the kind of academics followed do not have to foot transport costs of their children to India or be apart while they are at school given this facility.”
This is a bridge to serve the 15,000 students destined for education in India annually. It the only institution using the Indian curriculum in Uganda and yet over the years, thousands of Ugandans have studied in Indian colleges and universities, especially in Pune, Bangalore and Delhi.
Asked about the school’s curriculum, the school’s Principal Mary Jacobs it has evolved through thousands of years into what it is today.
“The more reason it is propelling India into a global technology, medicine, accounting and engineering power house,” revealed Jacobs.”
Talking to the students from from Uganda, Zimbabwe, Sudan, India and China among other countries was a revelation of a melting pot of cultures in Kampala. Out of class they indulge in sports, reading, cooking and other trades.
As parents pick application forms they are informed that DPIS is an addition to the chain of Ruparelia education investments that comprise; Kampala International School, a Victoria University and Kampala Parents Primary School.
